Reports are in that Mr. Gary Payton is working to put together a group that includes his agent and former Sonic James Donaldson to bring the NBA back to Seattle by 2011.
According to the Seattle Times and Seattle PI, The Glove -- who appeared with the familiar grin and swagger before a standing-o this past Sunday at Qwest field to raise the 12th man flag before the Seahawks and Packers game -- predicts a new team to arrive in the next three years, and wants to have an active role with the organization.
Payton added that in no way will his jersey be retired in Oklahoma – that they won’t be the beneficiaries of seeing him raise his jersey. Speaking for all Supersonics fans, it will be a grand day when we raise #20 to the rafters here in Seattle.
