I don't know about you, but I don't think I know one single person who is without problems in life. Problems come at different times, sometimes all at once, in different forms and seem to spare no one in their path.

In a world filled with problems, how do we turn a situation that seems so negative into something very positive? What!? Problems can't possibly be turned into positive situations, right? Friends...so wrong.

I was making the rounds on Facebook last night, and came a across a friend's status which read, 'Don't you just hate when things are going so badly that there's nothing you can do about it?' It hurt me to 'see' a friend in pain. You may not realize it, but Facebook and other social networks you may belong to are a great way to share joy and encouragement with those who are hurting. So, there's an opportunity for us to aid our friends when they cry out, but we don't always know when our friends are hurting, because they don't say so. We are also sometimes oblivious of other's problems because we are dealing with and dwelling on our own hurts.

My husband is a fantastic problem solver. He's one who doesn't act hastily or let his emotions rule his decisions. He carefully examines the problem, weighing all possible options and tries as best he can to solve it. If the problem cannot be solved alone, or by the two of us, we know our next move. We sit down together, hold hands and each take a turn praying. That 'next move' should be our first move every time, and it should be your first move, too.

You see, our problems present us with a very unique opportunity- which is to trust in God. Trusting in someone completely isn't an easy thing to do. We see marriages and friendships end pretty often because someone has betrayed someone else's trust. God cannot and will not betray your trust, friends. He is the one to go to in times of trouble...with the big uh-oh's and the little uh-oh's and when we're going through things that we just don't understand.

Proverbs 3:5 says, 'Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.'

Psalm 91:2: 'I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'

Even Jesus tells us to trust in God in John 14:1, where he says, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me."

This trust is part of our spiritual growth- us getting to know God, and Him knowing us. When things are going so badly for you, there is something you can do about it! God is the great problem solver- go to Him with your problems, and wait patiently to hear His voice. He may not always reveal the answer you're looking for, but know and trust that He makes all things beautiful in His time.

When you're in the midst of confusion, pain and feel like it's you against the world, make this your battle cry: "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but I will trust in the name of my God!" - from Psalm 20:7.

I hope and pray that you will trust God in every area of your life, friends. Trust him when things are going well, when they're balanced, and when you're in trouble. He is your very present help in time of need and He is with you, always.
