Lloyd's latest effort is available for download

There must be something in the water at Irv Gotti’s office because his artists are dropping like flies. The latest artist to bite the dust on the label formally known as Murder Inc is R & B singer Lloyd, who expressed in a press release this week that he wants out of his recording contract.

“I just feel I need to take more control over my career and get a fresh start. Hopefully Irv can understand my position."

Apparently Gotti does not understand Lloyd’s position. He stated to MTV News that Lloyd had plenty of creative freedom.

“…he had his creative freedom to do whatever he wanted to do. But for some reason the people did not respond to the album or to him.”

Ouch! Whether or not Lloyd’s claims are valid, this isn’t the first time an artist has jumped ship from The Inc. Ashanti, one of Gotti’s biggest money makers, bailed last month. Looks like it is up to washed up rapper Ja Rule and pianist/singer Vanessa Carlton to hold down this quickly crumbling fort. If the label continues to implode, Gotti may have to sign on for 3rd season of VH1’s Gotti’s Way.
