When it comes to beer bars, the Ginger Man in South Norwalk is something special. With 52 taps, over 100 bottles, and a cask handle, their beer offerings are legendary.
In addition to offering a ton of great beers, the Ginger Man also hosts monthly beer dinners. Brewers or beer distributors are invited to bring some of their showcase offerings, and a special five course menu is built around the beer. Not a bad deal for $65!
This month, Brooklyn Brewery is the guest brewer, and the menu sounds awesome:
First course: Sliders marinated in Brooklyn Lager - paired with Brooklyn Lager
Second course: Crab cake salad over field greens w/ tarragon Dijon vinaigrette - paired with Brooklyner Weisse
Third course: Serano ham wrapped pork tenderloin w/ hot cherry pepper relish and Amish cheddar polenta - paired with Brooklyn Local #2
Fourth course: Variety of cheeses (to be determined) - paired with Brooklyn East India Pale Ale
Dessert: Chocolate coffee stout mousse w/ white chocolate whipped cream - paired with Brooklyn Brewmaster's Reserve Intensified Coffee Stout
Man, that sounds good (especially dessert)! The dinner is scheduled for Monday, July 13th, 2009 and starts around 7:00PM. Tickets are available in person at the bar, or calling 203-354-0163.
