It has been a long time coming, or so it seems, anyway, but the Florida DOT said today the Cecil Commerce Parkway (S.R. 23) will open tomorrow.
A ceremony tomorrow at 2 p.m. will commemorate the $62 million project occasion at Normandy Boulevard and the intersection with New World Avenue.
The new four-lane limited access highway connects 103rd Street with I-10. It is expected to promote economic development on the western side of Jacksonville as well as provide a vital connection to the Cecil Commerce Center from I-10. It also brings easier access to Cecil Commerce Center and Cecil Field.
