Tofu, soy pepper steak, soy chicken, soy shrimp and tempeh? Oh my indeed!

North Portland is catching up to South East when it comes to vegan-friendly restaurants. Thai Cafe, near the corner of Mississippi and Killingsworth, is a prime example of a thai restaurant that caters to its vegan and vegetarian neighbors. It's also one mere block from the PCC Cascade campus.

The service is quick, the owners have a sweet temperament and the reasonably priced food is delicious. Tell the staff up front that you want a vegan dish and they will be more than accommodating.

Thai Cafe has been open about a year and seems to have already settled into its proper restaurant groove. Now if only they'd add that delicious vegan ham the Tube has.
