The Belmont Crowd

On Saturday night, The Belmont hosted the latest INsite night featuring music from Kalu James, Love at War and The Will Evans Project. The night was a benefit for Grounded in Music, a nonprofit organization that brings music lessons to disadvantaged children. Additionally, the night was a CD release party for The Will Evans Project, celebrating the release of Plantenga.

Love at War

Love at War evokes the look and feeling of a boy band that can actually play their instruments. Their songs were innocuous and firmly aimed at the female demographic. The polished looks and pop sound might turn off some, but the crowd at The Belmont ate it up.

The Will Evans Project

The Will Evans Project moved the night from pop into funky rock territory, starting the set with a fuzz bass riff that wouldn’t quit. Quick use of effects, tight rhythm, and funk/blues undertones were put to good use.
