Via Greater Greater Washington, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, who was the apple of George Will's eye last week, had some words for the bike, transit, and pedestrian hater:

We have to create opportunities for people who want to ride a bike or walk or take a streetcar. The only person that I've heard of who objects to this is George Will.

Nice! With that attitude, and those goals, I may take back my pre-Inauguration George Willian analysis. LaHood made his statement during a speech at the National Press Club in support of the stimulus plans and impending transportation bill(s). During a Q&A he also said, "It is a way to coerce people out of their cars. Yeah."

Ha!
