WMATA.com and Metro report that Federal Triangle Metro station is CLOSED.

Police asked that the station close as the result of mall crowding. Metro expects the station will reopen around 6:30 p.m., after the parade.

Inauguration goers will find other stations, many on the blue and orange line, which includes Federal Triangle, within walking distance of the station.

Unofficial estimates place the crowd at 1.4 million people.
