In this edition of "Keeping up with the Donaires", Nonito and Rachel let their hair down as the countdown to Nonito's upcoming bout with Rafael Concepcion nears the one month mark.

Rachel shares her thoughts on Ghettro and fires back at Perez Hilton?! I don't know if Rachel will stand a chance against Perez in a war of words but I'd bet money on her anyday in a cage fight.   

Nonito on the other hand shows his lighter side on an exclusive video shared by FilipinoFlash.com and 411mania. Nonito is caught on camera screwing around before the presscon of Pinoy Power 2 last July 1. It's quite refreshing really how it shows the real and goofy side of Donaire. The video had my 6 year-old son in stitches from watching his antics as Donaire proved he might very well have a future in the entertainment industry as a comedian- or even a San Francisco 49ers cheerleader. Kidding aside Nonito is a really colorful guy. He's not only full of energy inside the ring, but defitely outside it as well.

On a different note, Donaire is currently training hard however at the Undisputed Gym in San Carlos, California where he will aslo be hosting a public workout at 1:30 pm this Saturday July 11.

Ghettro, Gossip, and Good Manners

Oh, guess what I did the other day? I went and bought a Ghettro. LOL. Just kidding.

Remember the spiel I had last week about not wanting to waste money? Well the AT&T bill has been racing ever since we’ve been back with interviews, appearances, and the works. The plan I was on wasn’t accommodating enough and instead of paying an enormous bill I decided to port the number over to Ghettro, otherwise known as MetroPCS. I had one in high school before but it didn’t have that great of coverage. But now!! OMG! I get coverage everywhere! So it’s like $50 a month for unlimited calls, unlimited internet, unlimited INTERNATIONAL text to any country, and even unlimited internationals calls but it limited countries. You know if they had unlimited calls to PI all of California would buy Metro! LMAO. Right now it’s unlimited to Mexico, Canada, Austrailia…Hey I know some Canadians!! Lots of them actually!!! Real big fans of Nonito; Real fun people. Anyway, I’m still figuring out my handset. It’s hard going from a touch screen to a tracker ball. Almost like Windows to Mac. Actually it is because my other phone was a dual-sim Windows 6.1 so yea. Maybe I’ll sell my other phones on craigslist and use the money to buy an eye shadow set onEbay. Do you know how much the eyeshadows cost? It’s like $20-something a color! On Ebay there are sets with 72 colors WITH a complete Mac brush set for $60! Of course I’d have a bidding war over it and most likely lose when it gets over $75. LOL

Anyway, the economy is in the dumps right now!! I received a book from our bank yesterday and was trying to make a good decision on what accounts to invest in to make our money work for itself and oh so sad! Interest rates are like 1-2% if you are lucky! Horrible!

So to get my mind off that bad news, I looked up www.PerezHilton.com. That man has no remorse for what he says about people. At least, if he does, he doesn’t show it. I know he’s making millions running this gossip site (and getting sued for millions), but who does that? How can he judge other people like that? He trashes peoples photos with writing all over it with all negative comments. I dunno. People really shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. And even if you’ve read the book, who is anyone to judge? None of us are God, none of us are perfect. Why can’t we accept that those celebs are human just as much as the rest of us, and they have feelings too? No wonder teens these days have issues. Perez even mocks people who are 2 pounds over the weight limit of 100lbs! It makes me wonder sometimes if he looks at himself in the mirror and is unhappy with himself that he has to judge others.

I learned not too long before. I worked at Samuel’s Jewelers back in the day and a grungy looking cowboy walked it. No one helped him. So I walked up and talked with him for a bit, found out he was looking for an engagement ring. Never assume how much a person can afford. He chose a 2 carat Princess cut. I asked him if he wanted to open up a credit line to pay for it and he said he’d just write a check. Turns out this guy owned a huge farm land that was doing quite well. Anyway, I never asked him about his clothes and his face being unshaved and stuff because in the end, as long as he was happy, which he seemed pretty ecstatic when he left, then who am I to judge? Who am I to impose my opinion of how he should be, act or dress? Two quotes to take away from this blog are regarding bad actions and one about just being nice. The first one is from the Bible, which states: “Let one who has never sinned cast the first stone.” (I also particularly like the story of the two sisters, Martha and Mary. Martha was cleaning while Mary was listening to Jesus and Martha was angry that Mary wasn’t helping. Jesus protected Mary saying not to judge her because “she is enriching her soul rather than consuming herself with mundane matters”). The second quote is from Bambi’s friend Flower: If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.

To close, I hope to see everyone at the Public Media Workout on this Saturday, July 11 at Undisputed. I planned this last minute, actually last week due to the increase flow of requests to visit Nonito and of course, interviews. I decided it’d be a great inspiration for Nonito to workout in front of his fans as we approach the 30-day count down, as well as have the Bay Area writers interview him on the spot! He is the ONLY Pound for Pound in California and 2ndPinoy to be on the list. Anyway, after I think it’ll help him focus more on training. So I’ll have snacks and drinks available, as well as raffling some prizes off. Hope you can join us and just come have fun!
