With Thanksgiving just one day away, join Nightlifegay.com for a Pink Pub Crawl tonight, November 26. Not only is this the biggest bar night of the year (who doesn’t need a little liquid courage before facing Aunt Glady tomorrow?), but the first 50 people who show up wearing pink for this big gay event will go home with a copy of rock star (and Philly native) Pink’s new single “Sober.” With four bars on the crawl, however, it’s likely the giveaway will be the only sober thing in sight.
The Pink Pub Crawl starts out at one of Examiner’s favorite new bars Stir (1705 Chancellor St., 215-732-2700) from 9 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. before departing for Tavern on Camac (243 S. Camac St., 215-545-0900) where beverage revelers will have until 11:30 p.m. to take advantage of bartender George’s liberal pour. At Tavern, Philly’s TLA Entertainment will give away 50 DVDs. By 11:30 p.m., the crawlers will be stumbling around the corner to Bump (1234 Locust St., 215-732-1900) for martinis galore before everyone hits after hours club Pure (1221 St. James St., 215-735-5772) until 12:30 a.m. when the Pink Pub Crawl officially ends and longest last call of the season begins.
If you don’t want to pay $30 to run with the pink crowd, then show up in a piece of pink clothing (Nightlifegay.com’s Bruce Yelk suggests a pink shirt, pants, jacket, hat or boa) and you’ll get $10 off admission. For a mere $20, you’ll be handed one drink at each of the first three stops, as well as free admission to Pure to hear DJ Billy Carroll spin. If you decide to join the crawl at any stop on the route, the cost decreases by $3, but all crawlers must get their ticket to ride before reaching Bump.
