Forget checkerboards, red and black have reached a whole new level of opulence.  From dresses to trench coats, incorporate the boldness of these eye-catching colors wherever and whenever you can.

The explosion of crimson on the Fall runways created quite broodingly romantic collections from designers like Moschino, Prada and Donna Karan.  Take a cue from Moschino and find a daring and vivid shift dress.  Heed Prada's advice and find a bold overcoat in the deepest crimson possible.  Follow Donna Karan's tips and pair a red blazer and black pencil skirt for a strikingly sophisticated suit.

Black will always be thought of as basic, but this Fall's runways brought about a black that is anything but banal. Designers like Alexander Wang, Lanvin, and Calvin Klein presented the macabre hue in the form of luscious leathers, lace frocks, tailored tuxedos, and daring mini dresses.  Never before has so much life been injected into such a somber color.

Best of all, black and red are simply classic, together or separate.  The colors are unavoidable in the store, on the street, and in your own closet.  Break out your sexiest red and your boldest black and channel your inner romantic.  Shed your dull garments and release your most daring fashionista, she deserves to get out once in awhile.
