Gladiator sandals seem to resurface every time summer rolls around, and this summer is no exception. Gladiator sandals are the "it" shoe to own, and finding yourself a pair shouldn't be difficult considering that everyone has their own version to sell. There are a myriad of different "gladiator" styles out there - from knee-high to high-heel - the versatility these sandals incorporate into your wardrobe is worth the price.
Something to consider before investing in a pair of Roman-inspired footwear is what type of foot you have. Many women have high arches that need to be supported by a well-made insole. Unfortunately, the majority of the Gladiator styles are a bit too historically accurate and are designed for a man's completely flat foot. Don't fret. Since these sandals come in so many different shapes and sizes, finding the perfect pair for your feet will just take a little window shopping.
If you are one of the many women with narrow feet and a high arch consider buying a pair of these sandals for occasional use instead of as a pair of everyday sandals because constantly walking in shoes with no arch support could lead to foot problems later.
As varied as the styles are the prices. Many brands have made this style available for under $50, however the more elaborately detailed the sandal, the higher the price. If you are on a tight budget, consider buying a simple leather pair. The pair pictured can be found at Urban Outfitters on sale for $40.
Remember that these are a seasonal style, and that it is not worthwhile to break the bank for a pair of sandals that are wearable for a few months out of the year.
