Have you finalized your plans for the Labor Day weekend? Perhaps you're thinking of visiting antique stores near Lancaster, historic Strasburg, or the outlet malls near that area? Perhaps you've considered entertaining the family at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania? If you are out that way, do stop by Strasburg's Choo Choo Barn - Traintown U.S.A.®; a family affair. 

As well as delighting young children, adults will also enjoy the display. My young son and I were recently their guests and were amazed by the special model train displays which include more than 150 hand-built animated figures and vehicles, as well as 22 operating trains.

The layout depicts many Lancaster scenes, such as the construction of an Amish barn, Dutch Wonderland, and the Strasburg Rail Road! We did the full circuit twice to better appreciate all the display had to offer, such as the fall of night, the night stars, and a burning building. Tickets are $6 for adults (13 years and up) and $4 for children (4 years to 12 years).

If you have already finalized your plans for this weekend, but your family loves trains, you can still combine a trip to the Choo Choo Barn with a vist to Thomas the Tank Engine, who will be at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania from Sep. 12 to 20.
