Uehara out up to two months
Baltimore Orioles pitcher Koji Uehara may
miss up to two months with a partially torn flexor tendon in his right elbow.
Uehara will not pitch for the next five weeks and could even miss the rest of the season.
For all of those Orioles fans in favor of the team's youth movement, especially when it comes to the starting rotation, this news has to bring a smile to your face.
You never want to see a player injured, but the loss of Uehara really opens up opportunities for pitches that could be part of a contending club in the future.
The news pretty much solidifies David Hernandez' spot in the starting rotation for the near future and could mean another callup from Triple-A down the road.
If the club had used Uehara correctly as a long man out of the bullpen, maybe this wouldn't have happened.
