After watching the Cleveland Cavaliers bow out in six games to a very mediocre team without a star player or its starting point guard, it's time to stop comparing him to Michael Jordan.

This isn't to say James isn't a great player, because he is. He has skills that Jordan never had and has an almost unlimited ceiling. I could see him continuing to improve for another few years before reaching the prime of his career.

It just kills me how much hype James has received before guiding his team to an NBA title, which is a prerequisite to be mentioned among the NBA's all-time best players.

Jordan never would have allowed his team to fall to that Orlando Magic squad. Many forget that Jordan was a dominant scorer during a time when defenders could hand-check and grab players as they tried to drive to the basket.

Not only did he win countless MVP's, scoring titles and NBA championships, but imagine what he would have done had he not retired twice? It's pretty amazing to think he may have won as many as 10 NBA titles.

You think some of the fouls you saw in this year's playoffs were rough? You should have seen what the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons used to do to Jordan.

James constantly whines to the referees despite rules that allow him to do whatever he wants and protects him when he drives to the basket. Jordan had no such luxury, and he didn't spend his time complaining to officials. He just stared down his opponent and became even more intense, more determined to come away victorious.

LeBron is a competitive guy, but he has not reached Jordan status in that department. I'm not sure anyone could. Jordan was the most competitive athlete I've ever witnessed. I'd say Tiger Woods is a distant second.

In fact, as good as James already is, he still shouldn't be mentioned in the same class as Kobe Bryant, who has won three NBA championships.  Although it's only fair to admit that he did so with much help from Shaquille O' Neal.

So let's wait until LeBron wins a ring or two or three before we start compairing him to "His Airness." Let's show Jordan some respect, and let's be fair to James.
