Round 3: Ravens vs. Steelers
Ding, Ding, Ding. Let's get it on!
So it's Steelers week for the third time this year. How about that?
It only makes sense given the way the first two meetings ended. There is certainly some unfinished business, and the Ravens now have the opportunity to take care of it and reach the Super Bowl.
I think most Steelers fans are actually happy to see the Ravens as their opponents. They have confidence from beating them in both meetings this year, and I think they are thrilled to see the towel-stomping Titans lose in such heart-wrenching fashion.
As for Ravens fans, how are you feeling about Sunday's opponent? I'd love to beat the Steelers, but I would be lying if I said it would be easier than traveling to San Diego and laying a beatdown on the much softer Chargers.
It's one of those situations where if the Ravens win, it could one of the greatest Baltimore sports moments of my lifetime. However, if they lose, it could be one of the absolute worst moments. I think it would even be worse than the loss to the Indianapolis Colts in the second round of the 2006 playoffs.
Either way, if you are looking at it from strictly an entertainment standpoint, it doesn't get any better than this. Two bitter rivals, the two-hardest hitting teams in the NFL, playing for the right to go to the Super Bowl on a frigid, possibly snowy evening. That is football, my friends, win, lose or draw.
So what do you think? Are you happy we get the Steelers, or would you like to be playing the Chargers? Leave your thoughts. If nothing else, I'm really excited to get things stirred up this week and have some good football exchanges with the readers.
