With the opportunity to get right back into the AFC North race and a change to avenge a home loss to the Bengals, the Baltimore Ravens turned in a perplexing effort in Cincinnati.

The team sleepwalked through the first three quarters before finally showing signs of life in the final period.

The defense looked horrible in the first half but rebounded to turn in a respectable performance in the second half.

The offense, outside of Ray Rice, looked terrible throughout the game despite a late fourth quarter push.

For a team that many feel is worthy of being in the NFL's elite, you have to wonder what's going on with the Ravens these days.

They turned in such an uninspired performance in a pivotal game. Is it the coaching? Is it the players? Where is the fire? Was Haloti Ngata's injury that devastating? Why does the offense looks so lost when they play the Bengals? The officiating continues to shaft the Ravens, but what's up with all of the penalties? Why are the Ravens so inconsistent? Why do they get off to such slow starts? So many questions and so few answers.

I'm going to listen in on some of the postgame comments and will have more to come in the next few days, including my usual Monday grades for each position on the Ravens. Check back tomorrow for more Ravens analysis.
