The Baltimore Ravens have released kicker Steve Hauschka and signed Billy Cundiff to a contract.

Hauschka missed four field goals this year with the Ravens, including a 36-yard attempt Monday against the Cleveland Browns. That missed attempt combined with the blocked extra point seemed to be the final straw.

Cundiff began the season with the Cleveland Browns but was cut after Phil Dawson returned from injury. He is best known for his time kicking for the Dallas Cowboys.

The veteran Cundiff, along with Mike Nugent, had a couple of tryouts with the Ravens in recent weeks.

The Ravens are looking at Cundiff on a week-to-week basis and will certainly be evaluating their other options, which could eventually include re-signing Matt Stover should he be cut once Adam Vinatieri returns.
