We've been through the Gary Williams-Kathy Worthington-Debbie Yow flap in Maryland, and it wasn't pretty. Now Chris Turner's father is voicing his displeasure with the school's athletic director.

John Turner created a thread on Insidemdsports.com criticizing Yow and said that the Terps will never have a successful men's basketball or football program until she is gone. He also said he hopes the school relieves her of her duties.

The frustration is really starting to bubble over in College Park because of what has been a disastrous football season that might get a lot worse before or if it even gets better.

There is certainly a lot of truth in what Turner said. Yow's focus has really shifted to some of the school's smaller sports, which has meant less money and resources for men's basketball and football.

She has really thrown a lot of support behind women's basketball. That's all fine and dandy, but the only way women's basketball and those other smaller sports exist is with the money brought in through men's basketball and football. Otherwise, all of those other sports that operate in the red cannot survive.

Yow has also caused division within the athletic department for her lack of support for Gary Williams, which has cost the Terps a couple of basketball recruits. Williams has been under fire for poor recruiting and subpar seasons, but it doesn't help when she is tying his hands with regard to the players he is trying to bring into the basketball program.

At the same time, you can't help but think that he is a little bit off his rocker. He believes his son is one of the best quarterbacks in the ACC. In all actuality, he is probably one of the worst starting quarterbacks out of the six major conferences.
