Belly dance seminar season is around the corner! It’s time to mark your calendars and plan for some serious shimmying.
As a dancer, the education never stops. If you are a beginner or a successful professional dancer, not everyone knows everything. Just as real estate professionals, doctors and lawyers participate in continuing education, so should dancers. There is always a new method or technique to add to your repertoire. Attending seminars and workshops, especially those close to home, are an opportunity for learning and for connecting with the local dance community.

Seminars in Cleveland:
1. Cassandra Al Warda and Turquoise International present Momo Kadous and Moira Chapell Belly Dance Workshops and Performance, Saturday and Sunday, September 19-20, 2009 at Wolstein Center in downtown Cleveland. Momo Kadous (authentic oriental dance) will be instructing on Saturday and Ms. Chapell (tribal fusion belly dance) on Sunday. A big evening show in Saturday evening. Fabulous shopping

2. The Oasis Dance Troupe in Medina, Ohio will be presenting a workshop with
drummer Karim Nagi of Turbo Tabla. Local dancer Shereena will be performing with Mr. Nagi for the finale of the evening show.

Seminars in surrounding areas:
1. Talitas, Grove City, Ohio (near Columbus) presents “2009 Dumbek & Dance.”
A tribal belly dance event, they will be offering monthly events. The June 27 event will feature musical gusts Plastic Horses. Subsequent events will be held on
July 25 and August 22. Events run from 5-8pm. Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door.

2. The Visions of the Nile Belly Dance School in Akron, Ohio presents Aegela–
Seminar and Trunk Show at their studio on Sunday, June 28. The seminar is from 11am – 2pm. The trunk show is from 2-3pm. Cost is $35.
