Nancy Pelosi held her weekly press conference today amid much anticipation that she'd be fielding more questions about her accusation that the CIA lied to Congress continually about enhanced interrogation techniques. Other members of Congress as well as the CIA vehemently dispute the charge.

However, Pelosi refused to take questions on the subject, saying she's said all she's going to say on the matter.

Where is the White House on this? Either the President believes Pelosi and is okay with the CIA lying to Congress (a crime), or he doesn't believe Pelosi and is okay with the public left wondering whether the CIA is the good guys or the bad guys. He can't have great confidence in both the Speaker of the House and his CIA chief while they are out there contradicting each other on a criminal accusation.

As much as many of the parties involved would like this situation to just fade away, it will not. Somebody's lying about sensitive national security issues, and we need to know who.
