Business and Education Talent Readiness Project helps teachers gain a greater understanding of business needs

The Business and Education Talent Readiness Project (BETR) today announced its Tuesday Tours lineup for 2009.

Tuesday Tours helps teachers, counselors, and administrative staff, in pre-kindergarten through college classrooms, forge connections with businesses and learn about the real-world needs of business for certain skill sets.

Teachers who participate in Tuesday Tours may earn graduate credit from Colorado State University and will:

· Understand the tasks workers are expected to perform in various types of business,

· Identify skills which employers need now and in the future,

· Understand how math, science, communications, social skills, and technical applications are used in business and needed by students to succeed, and

· Establish ongoing communication between other teachers, students and business.

The Tuesday Tours are 90-minutes long, starting at 3:30 pm., on January 20, 2009, February 17, 2009, March 17, 2009, April 21, 2009, and May 19, 2009.
