The Army announced on Monday that the 1st Battalion, 2nd Aviation Regiment, aka "Gunfighters", will be transferred from their base in Korea to their new home at Fort Carson.  The Apache attack helicopter battalion will train at Fort Carson until they deploy to Iraq in Fall of 2009, and will remain home stationed at the post.

The transfer will include 500 soldiers, 150 dependents and 24 AH-64 Longbow helicopters.  The move is scheduled for March 2009.
