             The Mood Cure Book

Better moods with nutrition

Wouldn't it be great if you could easily handle depression, anxiety, mood swings, low energy, overeating? You might be able to.

In the book, "The Mood Cure" author Julia Ross, expert and pioneer in nutritional psychology, outlines a 4-Step program to regulate emotions and energy levels.

Step 1 - Take the mood-type questionnaire on pages 16-18. By deciphering the difference between moods that are caused by neuro-chemistry depletions in the brain, rather than from deep emotional issues that require psychotherapy, you can begin to identify your moods as true or false.

Step 2 - Eliminate the four most common mood imbalances.  Is depression a problem? Natural anti-depressants can solve this. Are you fatigued or have poor focus? Take natural stimulant fueling nutrients. Over stressed and your body producing too much adrenaline? The tranquilizing supplement GABA might take care of it within 5 minutes. Is emotional or physical pain problematic? Raising endorphins with targeted nutrients can shift this easily and effectively in many cases. For example serotonin is a neurotransmitter in the brain that helps maintain that 'happy feeling.' Without it many people experience a dark cloud over their emotions. Finding out if you are low in serotonin or any of the other necessary nutrients the brain needs, can regulate your energy simply and inexpensively.

Step 3 - Create a Nutritherapy Master Plan. Find out what the good mood foods are and how to rid your diet of 'emotionally hazardous edibles.' Learn how to create a good-mood menu of recipes and suggestions for every day eating. Chapter 7 has 26 pages of recipes to make at home plus ideas for eating out.

Step 4 - Getting Help with Special Mood Repair Projects. This part of the book goes over ideas for getting the right kind of sleep and how to break addictive food cravings. There are suggestions of natural alternatives when antidepressant drugs are no longer working and recovery help for many addictions.

We are in a bad mood epidemic. By discovering exactly where you may be depleting yourself through improper diet, lack of exercise, stress etc., you may be able to blast the blahs, rebuild your energy and capacity to focus and find a new lease on life in an astoundingly simple, sustainable and graceful way.
