When you talked about great games in the 8-bit era such as Super Mario Bros., Mike Tyson's Punch Out! and Metroid, you cannot leave out Tecmo Bowl.

The Nintendo DS will unveil the latest release, 'Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff' as a relaunch of the franchise.  Along with familiar side scrolling gameplay and revised graphics, this game is bringing back everything incredible that made it a smash hit in the late 80s such as play guessing and crazy quarterback routes.

The game has customizable teams where you can choose your team's colors, logos, player names and location.   You can even make a customizable playbook where players can choose the team's type of offense.  And multi-playing is where the experience is at and it has wi-fi for head to head competition with your friends.

'Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff' arrives in stores on Tuesday and I hope it will be successful as the original that was released a little over twenty years ago on the original NES.
