Nir Barkat (on the left)

There has recently been a new mayor appointed to the ancient city of Jerusalem...Mr Nir Barket on the left is now the man in 'charge' of this most ancient city of David. I have to wonder if he will have the wisdom of Solomon and bring about some change to the city of David?

We seem to be entering into a season of change - even in Southern Africa there seems to be change in the political arena afoot. In our own Country we are seeing change - hopefully for the better?

Personally, i am not too optimistic about this change, but then what do i know about politics?

Jerusalem the city of David. It is interesting to note that Nir Barkat ahs a background in the Israeli Defense Force. He spent six years in the IDF in the paratrooper brigade.

At the very least he does have some similarities with King David. He is also an accomplished businessman and by all accounts was a prosperous business leader. Like King David, he is a leader of men, and a successful businessman.

  • When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.
  • That government is best which governs the least, because its people discipline themselves.
