In the July issue of InStyle magazine Ryan Reynolds shared how he got fit for some of his most recent films.
Blade: Trinity the 6-foot-2 stud dropped his body fat to 3 percent and packed on 15 pounds of muscle. The key to dropping body fat is to basically eat. By simply changing the ingredients of what you may already be consuming you can achieve the weight loss that you are ultimately seeking. During the filming he used personal trainer Buddy Strom who has also trained Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Biel, Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lopez.
The Amityville Horror Reynolds applied the same principles he did for Blade:Trinity however he switched things up when he was filming X-Men Origins: Wolverine Reynolds says “When you work with Hugh Jackman, you want to be on your game.” His regimen included a lot of long hours working on his abdomen muscles and weight training six days a week. He found what worked best was incorporating a high protein diet, (below is an example of what Reynolds ate daily). The ideologies of high protein diets are to eat large amounts of foods high in protein while eliminating all carbohydrates. Popular high protein diets include the Atkins Diet and the Zone Diet.
Here is a sample the diet that Ryan Reynolds was on during the filming of X-Men Origins Wolverine.
* Breakfast: 2 eggs a slice of avocado and 1 cup of oatmeal
* Snacks: a protein Bar
* Lunch: tuna wrap or chicken salad
* Snacks: a whey protein shake, protein bar and an apple
