The average American consumes 24 pounds of candy a year, most of this candy is  eaten after or during Halloween. How can you make Halloween a fun and healthy time?  Avoid selecting treats that have chocolate, which contain a high fat content. Instead choose lollipops, hard candy and/or gumdrops, that are lower in calorie intake and can be stored longer over time. If you have decided to over indulged make sure to adjust other areas of your diet to compensate.

Below are few Halloween treats that children big or small might enjoy!

  • Caramel Honey Apples
  • Spice Pretzels?
  • Spicy Roasted Soybeans?
  • Spooky Honey Popcorn Balls?
