Nudists are leaping into the Atlantic on July 11 to set a world record for the largest skinny-dip. The stunt caps National Nude Weekend at Haulover Beach Park in Northeast Miami-Dade County, South Florida’s only nude beach.
How many nude people does it take to set the Guinness World Record? As many as show up, which could easily number in the hundreds, as the beach draws that many on sunny days. A rain date for the event is set for July 18.
The skinny dip record idea came from the American Association for Nude Recreation, which is sponsoring other simultaneous events around North America at 3 p.m. “Eastern Nudist Time.” The Haulover weekend’s co-sponsors are South Florida Free Beaches, B.E.A.C.H.E.S. Foundation Institute, and the Naturist Society.
Parking within Haulover Park is $5 per vehicle. The park's northernmost entrance is closed due to construction.
