Yesterday, Monday, June 22, The Lone Star Times gave its readers the opportunity to participate in an online Texas gubernatorial primary poll. By the end of the day, the results were as follows:
Who do you support at this early stage in the Republican primary for governor of Texas in 2010?
1. None of the above/Chuck Norris - 48% (133 votes)
2. Gov. Rick Perry - 23% (64 votes)
3. Debra Medina - 21% (57 votes)
4. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison - 8% (21 votes)
Monday's selection, of the The Lone Star Times readers, revealed an overall distaste for those currently in the Republican primary. However, surprisingly enough, the audience favored Debra Medina slightly behind Rick Perry, and, far ahead of Kay Bailey Hutchison. While this sample does not accurately reflect the Texas Republican primary voters, it's beneficial to see where different groups of people stand this early in the race.
After the poll became fully realized within the perceptual arenas of Medina supporters, the results drastically changed by Tuesday morning. As of now, Teusday, June 23 at 12:00pm CST, the results are as follows:
Who do you support at this early stage in the Republican primary for governor of Texas in 2010?
1. Debra Medina - 62% (555 votes)
2. None of the above/Chuck Norris - 24% (211 votes)
3. Gov. Rick Perry - 11% (102 votes)
4. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison - 3% (27 votes)
Online poll activity, such as this, seems to reflect the results of U.S. presidential polls, from 2007 and 2008, concerning Congressman Ron Paul; considering many of Medina's supporters did indeed support Congressman Paul during his presidential race (likely because of Medina's widely known involvement within his campaign) it seems she has captured some of Paul's Internet success.
Will it win her the race?
