Bob Lutz and Saturn chief Jill Lajdziak embrace during better times

In a rather shocking turn of events, reports are swirling that retiring General Motors product chief Bob Lutz may elect to stay with the company.

General Motors has sent out word that there will be a 9:00 a.m. EDT address from CEO Fritz Henderson tomorrow, Friday, July 9th.  Speculation is that the company will announce its emergence from bankruptcy.  Announcements such as Lutz's un-retirement may also be mentioned at tomorrow's address.

Lutz's future position could involve marketing and communications and or product design.

Most critics admit that General Motors has fared better under Lutz's watchful eye.  With the full compliment of Lutz inspired vehicles only now hitting their stride in the marketplace to mostly rave reviews, this can only be good news that Lutz has reconsidered his retirement.
