Students who will be entering the 9th grade in Cecil County all need to read a book from their school reading list. The Cecil County public school system has provided a resource page linking to each high school reading list.

It looks like Honors students will have different reading requirements, so doublecheck with the school before you have your Honors student start reading from the lists posted for his or her school.

North East High School has a detailed list of required reading books up on the school website.

One nice feature is that at least some of the students will be able to borrow the books on the reading lists directly from their schools. There is a special display of reading list books up at Book Cellar and the library has a lot of copies in stock, but borrowing from the school is a free option that gives plenty of time for slow readers to get their books finished.

Students who can't remember the exact title of the book they are reading may want to check the Cecil County Public Library's handy list of high school required reading titles for summer 2009.
