If you’ve been a fan of the series from the beginning you no doubt know that Bones is based on the writings and experiences of real life forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs. Well Kathy and the Jeffersonian crew are back in season 4 with juicy corpses and even juicier plotlines.
Whether its jaunting off to merry old England, or Booths bonding time with his son being horribly interrupted by the discovery of a birds nest containing a human finger, from an airliner that stores more than just in-flight meals in its oven, to Booth’s brother beaming at Brennan and followed-up by the season finale in which Booth’s comatose creation of a Film Noir-ian reality has him owning a Nightclub and keeping constant watch over his Motley Crue.
Bones is a series that binds great stories with great characters and the chemistry and premises couldn’t be more engrossing. The Blu-Ray extras are superb and the gag reel lets every viewer see a lighter and less robotic side to Brennan, allowing more Emily; the actress who portrays Dr. Brennan, and less Temperance to shine through.
So with great plot twists dripping with dysfunctional drama and more skeletons than you can shake a sticky finger at, Bones is a brilliant escape for any armchair anthropologist.
