The Buffalo Sabres play back-to-back games this weekend against Philadelphia and Boston and have called up goalie Jhonas Enroth from Portland to fill in for the injured Patrick Lalime. Lalime is sidelined once again with a groin injury.
Generously listed at 5’ 10” and 166 pounds, Enroth is just 3-7 this season with the Sabres farm team, with a 3.90 goals against average and a pitiful .872 save percentage. No offense, but let’s hope the only action Enroth sees this weekend is on Chippewa Street.

I don’t know if Marcus Jordan, the son of NBA great Michael Jordan, inherited any of his father’s outstanding basketball skills, but there’s no doubt that he’s inherited dad’s tremendous ego. Marcus, who’s playing college ball at the University of Central Florida, took the court earlier this week wearing Air Jordan sneakers, thereby voiding the college’s contract with adidas.
I’m sure the college will get a lot of exposure as a result of this conflict, and Michael Jordan will probably come through with some sort of gift to the school to make up for the financial loss, but what about Marcus? Nothing like putting your own interests before the interests of the team and the university.

Just a reminder to sports organizations and nonprofits that I'm doing some work for a local, very reputable and growing company called CityMade, and they have just introduced a great new fundraising idea.
Here's how it works: CityMade has four websites from which they sell a variety of products, many of them made in Buffalo. The company will provide a code for your organization, and that code can be used on all four sites when placing an order. The four sites are www.citymade.com, www.metrobaskets.com, www.celoxsales.com and www.yardleylondon.com if you’d like to check them out.
Whenever anyone places an online order and uses the code, the organization receives 10 percent commission on the sale. It’s incredibly simple!
If your organization is interested in creating a new revenue stream, let me know and I will forward the code to you. Just promote the code to your members and supporters and your organization will be good to go!
