Canisius College’s Select-a-Seat Day will be held in the Koessler Athletic Center from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 8. Golden Griffin fans will be able to experience a real game day feel at this year’s event, with the Canisius Pep Band, cheerleaders, Dance Griffs and pre-practice introductions prior to the men’s basketball team taking to the floor for an intrasquad scrimmage.
Season tickets for the combined 26-game home schedule are currently on sale at the ticket office in the Koessler Athletic Center and include all men’s and women’s games. Reserved seats are $140 for the general public and $100 for Canisius College faculty, staff and administration. Included in the package is the men’s basketball game against Fairfield at HSBC Arena, which takes place at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 2.
The men’s team returns all five starters and nine letter winners from last year’s team that went 11-20 overall. The women’s program returns two starters and seven letter winners from the 2008-09 campaign that went 24-9 and qualified for the WNIT for the first time in program history. The Blue and Gold is set to open the home portion of this year’s schedule against long-time rival St. Bonaventure at 7 p.m. Nov. 17.

The Buffalo Bills announced that Ralph Wilson Jr. will receive his Pro Football Hall of Fame ring in a halftime presentation at this Sunday’s game against Houston, and that Bruce Smith will receive his ring during halftime of the Miami game on Nov. 29.
Speaking of the Bills, it’s time for my weekly prediction. Well, if I keep picking against them, maybe they’ll keep winning. Texans 27, Bills 20.
