The auction to sell off the estate of Arthur C. Duffield was put on by Karlin Daniel, a professional auctioning company, yesterday at the Martin County Fairgrounds in Stuart, FL. Right across the street was the Visiting Nurse Association Air Show, so the buzz of vintage biplanes and the deafening roar of F16 fighter jets accompanied the auction all day.
Arthur Duffield was a vintage car and racing enthusiast, and he left an extensive collection of cars, parts, and memorabilia, all of which was auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Included in the estate were several Formula race cars, two 50s Thunderbirds, a 40s Ford Deluxe Coupe, and several bare car frames; Mr. Duffield's 2001 Chevy Silverado; a large collection of engines including several Ford flathead V8s and Crosley engines; an extensive collection of miscellaneous vintage alternators, starters, pulleys, pumps, and generators; a collection of tractors of various makes, conditions, and years; finally, household items were sold as well, including furniture, TVs, and artwork.

The auction began at 10am and moved very quickly, with items being auctioned off by pallet - whatever was on the pallet was sold altogether for one price.
Many pallets sold for as little as one dollar. Some of the parts for sale were quite rare and had quite a bit of collector's value, but even those that didn't were easily worth more than the auction price in scrap metal value alone, so everyone that won a bid got a fantastic deal.
