As a Showbiz Pet Examiner, I spend my days surfing the net, finding odd and occasionally useful links about which I might care to write. This column purports to share some of my favorite links with you.
One link, also recommended by trainer, Peg Munves, is “The poodle actor” by Charlene Dunlap. Ms. Dunlap’s Standard Poodles, Jyah and Sydney, star in their own movies that she produces. To train her dogs, Charlene teaches them everything from advanced obedience to obstacle training, targeting to tracking, scent work to service work . . . and a little bit of everything in-between. Furthermore, she will often explain how she achieved certain behaviors and even has a whole page on using clicker training for the Canine Actor.
Another site I found quite enjoyable was CINELAN’s 3 Minute film, Animals in Showbiz.
“Watch Petal the Dog, Amelia the Monkey, & Lulu the Collie pound the Hollywood pavement in search of their big break and the biscuit that comes with it. Explore the wacky world of showbiz pets and the colorful people helping them reach for the stars.”
