
“If you love your dog, you'll never admit she's ugly,” says Fanny’s human, Veronica Gedrich, a real estate broker in Dobbs Ferry, NY. “A friend of mine recently said he thought Fanny looked like a junk yard dog. I'm not speaking to him.”
What exactly is an ‘ugly dog? Is it a dog that does not possess physical beauty? Or rather, should it refer to a dog who, shall we say, is not the loving sweet pooch we expect? Is Fanny, the sweetest dog you’ll ever met really less attractive than the gorgeous yet obnoxious Yorkie with the pink bowtie and studded rhinestone collar that snarls and snaps at anything and everything in it’s path?
Like babies, all dogs are beautiful in their owners eyes. We naturally see through the scruffy fur, the bulging red eyes, the silly tails to hopefully find the true beauty lying underneath.
