Canned luncheon meats for your hurricane supplies.

In Florida it is hurricane season, so we stock up on canned food.  My list always includes corned beef, potted meats, as well as tuna, franks and beans, Vienna sausages, cans of fruit, and so much more.

Being National Canned Luncheon Meat week, it reminded me to go out and purchase even more cans for my hurricane kit.

Hubby remembers Spam, from when he was a kid, in England.  They had very little income so he got his Spam in sandwiches for lunch, and fried for dinner.  It was a main staple, during those post war years, but now we have a choice whether to eat it or not.

Corned beef and cabbage may be the meal to eat on St. Patrick's day, but the only corned beef we ate in England, was canned.  You can eat it sliced in a sandwich, and by adding a little tomato ketchup, it tastes delicious.  Everyones knows about corned beef hash, but it also makes a tasty omelet.

Keeping canned beef, pork, and chicken in the house, from June through to November, is a really sensible thing to do in Florida.  So if you haven't purchased your food supplies then add some of these to your list.
