Apple and blackberry crumble.  Wikipedia

Fresh fruit crumble

This is a really simple hot dessert and goes amazing with whipped cream or English custard.

You will need:

1 lb of fruit. At this time of the year there are still locally grown strawberries, but blackberries and apples taste great together too.

2 tablespoons of water

sugar to taste.

2 oz of margarine or butter

4 oz of flour

4 oz of sugar

Wash the fruit and if using apples slice then thinly or cube them. With strawberries they can be sliced.

Put the fruit in the bottom of a Pyrex dish, add a little sugar, and the water.

In a mixing bowl rub the margarine/butter into the flour. Once this is like breadcrumbs add the sugar. Sprinkle this over the fruit. Make sure it goes to the edges then press in down.

Bake in the oven on 375 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes until it is a light golden brown, and the top is crisp.

Whatever fruit you put in the crumble, it is always pleasing to the eye, to put some on the top for decoration.

This is by far one of the easiest puddings to make. My family would love it, and by changing the fruit, they thought I was coming up with a different dessert all the time.
