Publix.  Wikipedia

Are we buying less food?

I was surprised to read in the on-line Suncoast News, that Publix are closing their store, at 12031 U.S.19.  The Point Plaza store will shut its doors on May 2nd.

Publix are offering the 88 employees work at their other stores.  It is nice to know that they will not be losing their jobs and just another statistic.  The nearest Publix for customers is located at Little Road and S.R. 52.

I would have thought with money being so tight, more people would be buying food to prepare at home, than going out to eat.  It may be that they are going to cheaper places like Super Wal-Mart and Save a Lot.
