With people watching their pennies, taking a vacation, or mini-break, can still be expensive.
We came over to Kissimmee/Orlando for a 4-day/3-night break. First of all we made sure that our hotel had a free breakfast buffet. This saved us a bunch of money, on eating breakfast, orange juice, coffee, etc. Then the next thing I checked on was to see if they had coffee 24/7, in the lobby. This saved me even more money.
We ate lunch at Subway and split a $5 sub. Later that day we went to Logan’s Roadhouse Grill for dinner. On Monday and Tuesday they have 2 meals for $13.99. After eating peanuts, the rolls that are like mini-loaves of bread, and my salad I was full. Both hubby and I brought the majority of our dinners home. We also had two of the rolls.
The other important thing for us, in a hotel, is to have a fridge and microwave oven. This way we could bring the dinner back for another night.
We found an amazing Indian restaurant serving a $7 lunchtime buffet. We had this yesterday, and it was out of this world. Can you believe I didn’t eat another thing all day? Hubby had a snack, as he is insulin dependent diabetic, and can’t go too long without eating.
All in all, we have spent very little on food, this trip. We will be heading home tomorrow after having our free breakfast.
Happy travels and remember to stretch those dollars whenever you can.
