Quick, easy food.

This dish is better known as Cheese on Toast. There are many different recipes for it, and some of them have you making a cheese sauce, and then spreading it onto the toast. This is the quick version, and I much prefer cheese and tomato, on toast.

For one slice of Welsh Rarebit you will need,

1 slice of bread.

Sharp Cheddar cheese.

1 tomato.

Pepper to taste.

Slice the Cheddar cheese, and tomato, and then put them on top of the slice of bread.  Place this in the toaster oven, and toast lightly.  Take out and then put it back in the toaster oven, but this time put it on broil. Once the cheese is bubbling, remove it from the toaster oven. Lightly sprinkle with black pepper.

Alternative version for my husband, as he is diabetic and has heart problems.

Choose wheat bread over white, and use a lite or fat reduced cheese.

Grilled cheese, is an American all time favorite, but by making the cheese on toast version, you will be saving all the margarine, or butter, that goes on the outside of the sandwich. Healthy eating is quick and easy, and by cooking in a toaster oven, you save eating the extra fat.

Welsh Rarebit, done my way.
Really quick easy way to make 'cheese and tomato' on toast.
