From the $1.49 breakfast specials

 A couple of weeks ago we were in the Publix shopping plaza, on Ridge Road, and noticed a cafe next-door. Looking in the window of Kountry Kitchen, I saw that they had $1.49 breakfast specials, from 6.30 a.m. to 11. 00 a.m. each day. As I had food shopping with me, this eatery had to wait, until I could get back there.

Hubby and I went Tuesday of last week, and then took friends with us, on Saturday. On our first visit my husband had the two pancakes, and one egg breakfast. I decided on the one egg, potatoes, and toast. These meals were from the $1.49 menu. However, you do have to purchase a beverage with them, or you will pay $2.09. Our food came out piping food, and tasted great.

On our second visit, we both went for the pancakes and egg. Our friends chose from the regular menu, which were 2 eggs, potatoes and toast @ $2.70, and a full serving of biscuits and gravy for $3.25. Our pancakes were a little smaller this time, but at $1.49, that is still great value for money.

Taking time out to talk to Christine, she told me that being in the food business for 20 years, either bar-tending, Managing, or waitressing, that so she knows the business inside out. It is family owned and operated, and they have been in this location, for the past 18 months.

I asked her, Who do they cater for? The reply came back, that the seniors love the breakfast specials during the week, but lunchtimes business people come in, and on the weekends they get a lot of families. We noticed how busy they were on Saturday morning.

The breakfast specials are:

2 eggs and toast

2 pancakes and 1 egg

2 French toast

1 egg, potatoes and toast

1 egg, 1 bacon or link and toast

1 pancake and 1 bacon or link

1 French toast and 1 egg

1 pancake and 1 egg

The breakfast menu is extensive, and as well as having all the usual items, they also have 5 Egg omelets, Belgian Waffles, Very Hungry People Platters, Homemade Sausage Gravy, Cream Chipped Beef, and Atkins breakfasts.

They are open Monday through Friday from 6.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 7.00 a.m. to 2.pm.
