Recently I was reading the results of a test performed at Johns Hopkin's Medical School Of Medicine. The study was conducted by Doctor Marty Makary. It was suggested that the participants cut back on their food intake by 30%.
With people eating more, the average person eats somewhere around, 3,000 to 3,500 calories a day. A high proportion of these calories contain high fructose sugars. These spike the sugar levels.
The perfect diet should be 2,000 calories, but by cutting back 30% of the higher amount of calories, would help to restrict the ups and downs, of insulin sugar levels.
With less sugar in the system, eating less improved their memories by 20%. This study was done with the elderly, which I am one of, but it is suggested that it will help all age groups.
I agree totally with this study, as my husband has been a diabetic for 34 years. He eats far smaller amounts of food, than he used to, and his sugar levels are perfect 99% of the time. For a 75 year old, I have to say that his memory, is as good as mine, and I am 14 years younger than him.
