Last night I was watching Channel 8 News and caught the end of a segment about Supermarkets and how they fare. So I went to the tbo.com website and watched the video in full.
The inspectors rate good, fair, and poor.
Here is a list of the stores that only received a poor evaluation.
La Reina de Mexico on U.S.19 in Clearwater.
El Unico Supermarket, on West Hillsborough, in Tampa.
Little Saigon Market, no address given on the video.
Bodega Carniceria on North Armenia.
Java Food Bazaar on East Busch.
J & R Grocery in Wachula
La Placita in Arcadia.
Peter Bernard, of Channel 8 News did manage to go into a couple of these establishments, and he was assured, that they are now up to standard. However, if you missed this story, you can check it out at http://www.tbo.com/. Some of the violations were related to roaches etc. so this is kind of scary.
All the big supermarket chains did well with their inspections. Grocery stores get inspected three times a year, and more often, if a problem is found.
