Spending a morning at Busch Gardens was great today. Our plan was to check out all the animals and walk a minimum of 3 miles.
We passed the Zambia Smokehouse, and I wasn't tempted with their great BBQ ribs, chicken or beef. We continued to the Hospitality House, and partook of a sample of beer. Yes, it is true that come January 25th, they will be serving their last free samples. Our very good friend, Jerry who serves us, suggested we go back again before it is closed. Hopefully they will keep him on doing another job in the park.
From here we walked passed the Zagara Cafe and ignored the burgers and fries.
As we were heading for the exit, we passed the bakery. I let go of my hubby's hand and walked inside. Around 5 years ago I had the most amazing 'Chocolate Mint Mousse'. I checked the display cabinet, and sure enough, they still served it. I walked outside and my husband looked at me and asked why I hadn't bought anything. I told him about the mousse still being available, so he insisted that I have one. With him being diabetic I kind of felt bad, but this lady has been soooo good over the holidays, that I just had to indulge.
The cost is $3.99 + tax, but as I am a two year pass holder for both Busch Gardens and Sea World, I get a 10% discount on purchases. I chose to have it in a 'to go' box, and that way I wouldn't eat it all, and make myself sick. As you can see in the picture it is amazing, with the chocolate cake at the bottom, the mint in the middle, and the chocolate mousse on the top. The top is sprinkled with dark and white chocolate shavings. Then the dessert has a coating of chocolate around the edge of it. This combination is so good together. The mousse is really thick and creamy and the mint is to die for.
I sat outside the bakery and ate a third of it, then had a couple more bites, on our hour long drive home. This has left me with half of the mousse, which I will eat tomorrow. As I have said many times, I never go without, but don't go overboard either. For my husband I can make a healthy dessert.
