Eating better, eating healthier food should be a way of life, not just for Americans, but also for the World. This nation is getting heavier, and soon it will be out of control, if action isn't taken.
Hubby is on insulin for his diabetic, has heart and kidney problems, as well as several other major health factors. So why does this have anything to do with food?
When we go on vacation, during an 8 day/7 night stay in a timeshare, we only plan eating out three main meals. When our entrees arrived, we cut them in half, and asked for boxes. This way we were not tempted to eat a meal, that could be more than a day's calorie intake.
Where possible we ate salad, or had a salad before the entree. The meals that came with dessert were accepted, but the dessert went back with us, and eaten over a two day period.
Restaurants do give large portions, and everyone hates to have food thrown away. Next time you are on vacation either take a cold box with you, or plan on sharing a meal.
After all, who doesn't want to eat better, and eat healthier. Portion control is a great place to start.
