Last weekend we had visitors at our house. I wanted to eat out, but it was suggested I make pancakes.
Well, I certainly didn't want to spend a long time over a hot stove, so I used Wal-Mart's own brand of pancake mix, and added milk. I let the mixture stand while I was making the beds etc., and then got making them. These pancakes taste amazing but look pretty boring.
This is when I do my thing! I love to keep Dole frozen fruits in my freezer. They come in a 12 ounce resealable package. I ask my guests which of the fruits they prefer, and then take out enough to cover around a quarter of the pancake. This ensures that they get a piece of fruit with every bite.
Dole have a seal, for the best tasting award for 2008, on their packaging, and I have to agree. If you can't get fresh, then these are awesome. I believe I paid $3 and change for them, and they don't go bad like fresh fruit. My favorite is Dark Sweet Cherries, but you can also get them in:
Blueberries
Sliced Strawberries
Sliced Peaches
Mixed fruit
Blackberries
Mango
Organics
Pineapple Chunks
Raspberries
Tropical Island Blend
Whole Strawberries
Wild Blueberries
So next time you want to make an average breakfast extraordinary, why not keep a bag of frozen fruit in your freezer. It works every time for me. These are far more nutritious and better for you, than the restaurant ones, that are full of sugary syrup.
